Job summary

Stantec's Environmental Services Cultural Resources team seeks motivated archaeologists to support field surveys and monitoring in the Pacific Northwest. Join a collaborative, safety-focused environment with mentorship opportunities across multiple projects.

Responsibilities include pre-field planning, data collection, and supporting construction planning while traveling as needed to various field sites. A degree in anthropology/archaeology and CRM experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology.
• 1 year CRM experience or related fieldwork.
• Experience with both small and large archaeological crews.
• Willing to travel out of town up to 2 weeks.
• Familiarity with field applications like Survey123, Collector.
• Specialization in Section 106 compliance on federal lands.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Committed to safety and working in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Directly support archaeological field directors and project managers by assisting with pre-field planning, cultural surveys, and monitoring.
• Exhibit good field skills and can work independently and as part of a crew.
• Participate in identifying and recording areas of archaeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites.
• Collect appropriate field data.
• Support construction planning.
