Job summary

Ducks Unlimited, Inc. in Jackson, MO, seeks an Archeologist for a full-time role supporting NRCS Wetland Emphasis work. The incumbent will research archaeological databases, locate cultural resources, and help tailor methodologies to different environments.

Responsibilities include preparing reports and recommendations, coordinating with clients and agencies, maintaining records, and traveling for multi-day field investigations to support conservation plans.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology with PI experience.
  • 3+ years of field and report writing experience.
  • Ability to coordinate input from clients, agencies, staff and subcontractors.
  • Pass pre-hire screenings and drive as needed.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws governing cultural resources.

Responsibilities

  • Research archaeological databases and identify potential sites.
  • Assist in locating major cultural resources and adapting methodologies.
  • Prepare reports of findings and recommendations for NRCS and other agencies.
  • Travel extensively for multi-day field investigations.
