Job summary

HDR is seeking a Cultural Resources Specialist II to support archaeological services in the Midwest, focusing on Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois. Responsibilities include leading field teams, planning studies, and assisting with proposals and schedules for infrastructure projects.

The role requires travel, strong writing skills, and familiarity with Section 106, 4(f), and NEPA processes. A masterful understanding of cultural resources management helps ensure compliance and successful project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History, or closely related field.
• Five years of experience in cultural resource projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Familiar with field study design and GIS utilities.
• Willingness to travel and work in varied weather/terrain.
• Knowledge of Section 106, NEPA, and regulations related to cultural resources management.
• Experience with project compliance activities including QA and reviews.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead archaeological fieldwork and teams on complex projects.
• Develop proposals and project schedules for cultural resource studies.
• Support NEPA documentation and environmental constraints analyses.
• Travel periodically to project sites as required.
