HDR, Inc. is seeking a Cultural Resources Specialist II (Project Archaeologist) to support cultural resources and NEPA work across the Midwest, focusing on Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois.

The role involves planning and leading archaeological fieldwork on infrastructure projects and developing proposals and schedules. Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor's (and preferably a Master’s) in archaeology or related field, have 5+ years of cultural resource experience, and strong writing and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in cultural resource projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with project compliance activities including consultation, QA and reviews.
  • Willingness to work under varied weather conditions.
  • Familiar with field study design, regulatory framework for cultural resources, and GIS utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead archaeological fieldwork and teams on infrastructure projects.
  • Work on larger/complex cultural resources projects and develop proposals and schedules.
  • Support environmental constraints analysis and NEPA documentation; travel as needed.
