Job summary

Flowserve US Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer to provide on-site technical support for pumps and mechanical seals at customer sites and at our repair center in Detroit, Michigan. The role involves troubleshooting, design recommendations, and coordination with sales and engineering teams.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with hands-on experience in industrial pump systems and a strong customer focus. Some travel to client sites will be required.

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• In-plant operations experience highly desired.
• Knowledge of mechanical seals and rotating equipment, esp. centrifugal and liquid ring pumps.
• Strong customer focus and positive professional image.
• Team player able to problem-solve with customers and colleagues.
• Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Communicate customer needs to Flowserve; be primary technical source for design, installation, operation, and maintenance of pumps and seals.
• Act as liaison between customers and Flowserve teams (sales, reliability, service, manufacturing).
• Troubleshoot problems at customer sites and at repair center.
• Prepare reports and data analyses to support improvements or repairs.
• Present clear technical explanations tailored to audience.
• Assist with technical training for customers.
