Job summary

Flowserve is seeking an Application Engineer to support design, manufacturing, installation and operation of our pumps and seals at customer sites in the oil and chemical industries. The AE provides real-time technical support and recommends repairs, upgrades, and replacements onsite and at our repair center in Detroit, MI.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering, possess knowledge of mechanical seals and rotating equipment, and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration

Qualifications

• BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree required.
• Knowledge of mechanical seals and rotating equipment design, materials, and operation.
• Strong customer focus and ability to work with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; highly organized.
• Willingness to travel locally and overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Communicate customer needs and be the primary information source on design, installation, operation, and maintenance of pumps and seals.
• Act as liaison between customers and Flowserve internal teams.
• Troubleshoot technical problems at customer sites and at the repair center.
• Prepare reports such as failure analysis and performance reports.
• Provide guidance for installation and operation of Flowserve products.
• Maintain customer equipment data and parts inventories; support inventory reduction and consolidation.
• Assist in technical training for customers.
