Job summary

Sora Resource Group is seeking an Electrical Application Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering, sales, and product development. You will serve as the technical expert from concept through installation and support in demanding industrial environments.

You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to translate requirements into manufacturable solutions, design customized systems, and support field deployments with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics required.
• 5+ years of technical field or applications engineering experience.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, or similar environments is preferred.
• Knowledge of sensor technologies, industrial monitoring, electronics, and networks.
• Familiarity with Modbus, 4–20mA, relay logic, and other industrial protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep product and application expertise across industrial markets.
• Work with sales to understand customer requirements and propose solutions.
• Translate customer needs into manufacturable system and product solutions.
• Configure standard products to meet application-specific needs.
• Design customized solutions using internal and third-party technologies.
• Provide engineering calculations and technical analysis for recommendations.
• Serve as primary technical contact throughout sales and implementation.
• Communicate capabilities and concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create drawings, documentation, specs, and training materials.
• Support design, testing, installation, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot field equipment and provide remote support.
• Provide technical training to customers and sales teams.
• Evaluate new products for field readiness.
• Feedback to engineering teams on performance and improvements.
• Coordinate external engineering resources as needed.
• Join sales on customer visits and technical calls.
• Assist with RFIs and RFQs.
• Identify opportunities for future products or growth.
