Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking an Electrical Application Engineer to work at the intersection of engineering, sales, and product development. You will serve as the technical expert from concept through installation, commissioning, and ongoing support in demanding industrial settings.

You will develop deep product expertise, translate customer needs into manufacturable solutions, and collaborate with sales to tailor technical recommendations across oil & gas, mining, power generation, and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
5+ years of technical field, applications engineering, or similar hands-on experience.
Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, heavy industrial, or similar environments.
Familiarity with sensor technologies, industrial monitoring systems, electronics, and network communications.
Knowledge of Modbus, 4–20mA, relay logic, and other common industrial protocols.
Understanding of hazardous locations, classifications, and equipment ratings.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to translate complex technical information for customers and non-technical audiences.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Develop deep expertise in the company's products, technologies, and applications across industrial markets.
Partner with sales to understand customer requirements and recommend technical solutions.
Translate customer needs into practical, manufacturable system and product solutions.
Configure standard products and systems for application-specific requirements.
Design customized solutions using internal products and third-party technologies.
Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support product selection.
Serve as a primary technical contact for customers through sales and implementation.
Communicate capabilities and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Create application drawings, documentation, specifications, and training materials.
Support design, testing, verification, installation, and startup activities.
Troubleshoot equipment and systems in the field or remotely.
Provide training to customers, sales teams, and stakeholders.
Test new and existing equipment against specs.
Give feedback on product performance and field issues.
Participate in design and development of new products and enhancements.
Coordinate outside engineering resources as needed.
Accompany sales on customer visits and technical calls.
Support RFIs/RFQs.
