Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join a dynamic team that fuels growth in global IT opportunities. The FAE will engage customers from ground to executive levels, manage cross-functional projects, and ensure solutions meet customer requirements with strong technical leadership.

The role requires 5+ years in compute/storage or data center IT infra, solid knowledge of x86 server architecture, and fluency in hardware/software interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (EE/CS preferred).
• Hands-on data center and liquid cooling experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and business sense required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience with compute/storage server or data center IT infrastructure.
• Strong background in x86-based server architecture.
• Familiarity with firmware, Linux, Windows, virtualization, storage, GPUs, AI/ML, and data center ops is a plus.
• Strong technical communication and leadership to drive investigations across disciplines.
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Support revenue growth at all assigned accounts.
• Provide solution architecture and presentations to expand Fortune1000 account penetration and loyalty.
• Work with sales and extended teams to map customer requirements and optimized technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership in Pre-Sales and oversee solution implementation.
• Engage with C-level technical customers, build trust and drive outcomes.
• Diagnose complex hardware/software system interactions and guide resolution.
• Lead investigations and coordinate cross-team activities in the field.
• Develop and review system solutions, bids, and technical presentations.
• Travel to on-site facilities up to 25% as needed for integration.
