Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join a growing, dynamic team focused on developing opportunities in the global IT market.

You will work with customers from ground to executive level, manage projects, and help grow the business with a strong focus on customer solutions and continuity. The role requires leading cross-functional teams and engaging with Fortune1000 accounts, providing technical leadership in Pre-Sales and ensuring timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering disciplines; computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and business sense required.
• Minimum 8 year related experience with Compute/Storage Server or Data Center or IT Infrastructure experience desired.
• Strong background and experience with x86-based server architecture.
• Solid HW system expertise and diagnostics skills.
• Familiarity with Firmware, Linux, Windows and virtualization platforms is a plus.
• Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with engineers of multiple disciplines.
• Individual must be able to work effectively in a high pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, leads and mentors FAE team to drive revenue growth at assigned accounts
• Architects solutions and presents to expand Fortune 1000 account penetration and loyalty
• Collaborates with sales and teams to map customer business and partner needs, delivering optimized solutions
• Provides Pre-Sales technical leadership and oversees solution implementation
• Engages with C-level technical customers to gain and maintain trust
• Strong problem solver with system architecture, hardware and software interaction
• Basic hardware debugging skills
• Leads HW and SW engineers during product development
• Leads teams to investigate and resolve field issues
• Understanding firmware, drivers, OS and applications and their interactions
• Develops and reviews system solutions and bids
• Collaborates cross-department for customer satisfaction and timely issue resolution
• Builds and demonstrates proofs-of-concept meeting customer needs
• Presents brand, product messaging and solutions to customers
• Visits on-site facilities to enable integration and resolution
• Travel up to 25%
