Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking an experienced field-based professional in neuroscience with strong payer/account management expertise.

You will educate healthcare professionals on patient support programs and reimbursement processes, and act as a subject matter expert on regional and national payer requirements. The role requires extensive cross-functional collaboration with sales, market access, and patient services, plus significant overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, pharmacy, business related field, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of neuroscience experience with field experience in account management, payer account management, and/or field-based account access and reimbursement.
• Thorough understanding of payer policy processes, coverage criteria, coding, prior authorization, and appeal processes.
• Knowledge of reimbursement support services rules, regulations, and risks.
• Strong experience in national-level leadership and territory/account management.

Responsibilities

• Educate HCPs on patient support programs and reimbursement tools.
• Educate HCPs using approved resources to address access issues.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on payer policies for education of providers.
• Collaborate across sales, market access, and patient service teams to update Rx status and program eligibility.
• Identify and report payer trends to Patient Services and market access teams.
• Establish and maintain relationships with providers within the FRM territory and prioritize travel and activity.
• Stay current on managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities.
• Incorporate approved resources and data to support HCP education initiatives.
