Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the access SME for HCPs and HCOs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely patient access. The role is remote/field-based within the assigned geography, requiring 20-25% travel and residency in the New England South area.

You will educate providers on access processes, reimbursement, and patient support programs, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and staying abreast of payer changes affecting coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales, operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures and access processes (benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals).
• Experience in hub and patient support activities; HIPAA compliance essential.
• Willingness to travel 20-25% and reside in the New England South territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide education to HCP/HCO on access, including verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient programs.
• Analyze access trends and partner cross-functionally to remove barriers to patient access.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to support therapy access.
• Monitor payer trends and educate field teams on access issues and hub programs.
• Coordinate with hub vendor on patient cases and enrollments.
• Educate HCP offices about product hub programs and payer coverage changes.
