Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs. This remote/field-based role collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure timely patient access to therapy and to navigate payer coverage, benefits verification, and hub programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and at least 7 years in patient support, healthcare sales, or reimbursement, with strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial plans, and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in patient support, Pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes, including benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeal processes.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.

Responsabilités

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs.
• Analyze access trends and payer coverage to address barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate with Field Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Public Affairs, and Government Affairs to support patient access.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless patient access to therapy.
• Escalate and coordinate on access issues with third parties including hub vendor.
• Educate HCP offices on the product hub program including patient support offerings and hub resources.
• Attend National and Regional Meetings.
