Construction Material Testing in the Houston area is seeking a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on live construction projects, capture data, and deliver client-ready meshes, reports, and scan-to-CAD files. You will process data in Artec Studio, verify data on-site, and prepare deviations and coordinate reports for the drawings or CAD files.

The role requires reading structural drawings, traveling to regional hubs, and maintaining safety and chain-of-custody standards

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience operating a handheld scanner on real projects; bring examples.
• Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software.
• Familiarity with reading structural or fabrication drawings.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable record; able to travel.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, and anchor bolt reports.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
• Document capture procedure, equipment settings, and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
