Construction Material Testing seeks a skilled 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on active construction sites, capture high-quality data, and deliver actionable scan outputs to clients. You will process data in Artec Studio, generate CAD-ready meshes, and collaborate with project teams across the Gulf Coast region, including travel to regional hubs.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience operating handheld scanners (Artec Leo, Eva, Space Spider; or equivalents).
• Knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable software for mesh cleanup and registration.
• Familiarity with CAD and reading structural drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and able to carry equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; travel as needed.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD and metrology reporting is a plus.
• Certs like ACI/ICC are a plus and sponsorable.

Aufgaben

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement.
• Control drift on large objects with reference features and overlaps.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, export to STL/OBJ/E57 and CAD formats.
• Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, crack maps, pit-depth tables, and anchor bolt reports.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids (STEP/IGES) for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
• Document capture procedure and chain of custody on forensic matters.
• Keep scanner, batteries, and calibration records in order.
• Coordinate access, permits, and safety with superintendents and plant contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
