Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a technically skilled 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners, process data in Artec Studio, and deliver scan-to-CAD outputs for engineering and construction projects.

You will work on-site at various plant and job sites, travel as needed, and maintain data integrity from capture to final report, including adherence to safety and documentation procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience operating handheld scanners on real projects with examples.
• Ability to read and interpret structural or fabrication drawings.
• Willingness to travel and work on construction sites and plants.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans before concrete pours and for damaged structures.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site prior to leaving.
• Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export formats.
• Produce deviation color maps, measurement reports, and anchor bolt coordinates against drawings.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
