Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our national client base. This role goes beyond basic testing, involving OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and coordinating fiber installations across diverse facilities.

You will work in the field across a variety of environments, tackling complex connectivity challenges with reliability and precision. A strong preference is shown for hands-on troubleshooters who thrive outdoors and on the move.

Qualifications

• Fiber optic testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience, and one of the following: FOA Certification, CFOT Certification, BICSI Certification, Network+ Certification, or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including but not limited to.: Fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques.
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation.
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement.
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments.
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
