Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. This role goes far beyond basic installations, with tasks like OTDR testing, fusion splicing, troubleshooting impairments, and documenting results across critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• 1 year of Fiber, I.T., or Telecom experience and one of FOA/CFOT/BICSI/Network+ or 5+ years field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including fiber splicing (fusion/ mechanical), OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification; connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation.
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement; installation and testing of single-mode and multi-mode cabling.
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments; document results and splicing records.
