Job summary

Metronet in Des Moines, IA is hiring a Fiber Technician to install and troubleshoot fiber services from the terminal to customer equipment (CPE). The role involves hands-on work at residential and business sites, with travel for training as needed.

You will educate customers on Metronet products, meet performance metrics, and may earn commissions. A high school diploma or GED is required; telecom/fiber experience is a plus. Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 75 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with telecom/fiber preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to work from kneeling or standing positions for long periods.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from the terminal to Customer Premises Equipment (CPE).
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services to customers.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and associates.
• Work toward meeting key performance metrics.
• Other job-related duties as requested.
