Job summary

Metronet in Rochester, MN is seeking a Fiber Technician to install and troubleshoot fiber internet and phone services from the terminal to the customer premises. You will educate customers, operate safety practices, and work toward performance targets.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, physical ability for ladders and lifting, and a valid driver's license. A company vehicle, training, and advancement opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with a telecom/fiber company preferred but not required.
• Physically able to work kneeling or standing for long periods.
• Able to climb ladders up to 25 feet with safety gear.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs including ladders.
• Operate basic hand tools and company equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from terminal to Customer Premise Equipment (CPE).
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Earn commissions by explaining Metronet services to customers.
• Maintain professionalism with customers and associates.
• Meet key performance metrics.
• Perform other duties as required.
