Job summary

Metronet in West Chicago, IL is seeking a dedicated Fiber Technician to perform installations, disconnects and service changes for residential and business customers. You will troubleshoot from fiber terminal to CPE and educate customers on Metronet products with a professional approach.

The role requires physical ability to access attics and crawl spaces, climb ladders up to 25 feet, and lift up to 75 lbs. On-call, overtime, and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with telecom/fiber a plus but not required.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders and lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot Metronet services from terminal to customer equipment.
• Provide in-depth customer education on Metronet products and services.
• Explain Metronet services to customers to earn commissions.
• Work professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Meet key performance metrics.
• Perform on-call rotation after hours and travel as needed.
