Job summary

TEKsystems in Altoona, IA is hiring entry-level to lead fiber technicians for a long-term data center project. You will install fiber optic cabling, racks, cable trays, and data center equipment while supporting new construction.

Open to veterans and recent graduates; lead technicians with fiber installation and team leadership experience are welcome. This onsite contract role offers hands-on training and room to grow within a nationwide technology services company.

Entry-Level & Lead Fiber Technicians Needed!

Ready to launch or grow your career in the booming data center industry? We're hiring Level 1 Technicians and Lead Technicians for an exciting long-term project in Altoona, IA.

Open to veterans and former military personnel

Recent fiber optics training graduates encouraged to apply

Experienced lead technicians with fiber installation and team leadership experience welcome

What You'll Do:

• Install fiber optic cabling, racks, cable trays, and data center equipment
• Support new data center construction projects
• Work alongside large teams in a fast-paced environment
• Apply hands-on technical training and develop new skills

What We're Looking For:

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
• Team players who take initiative and stay engaged throughout the day

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Altoona, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
