Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring entry-level Cable Technicians to support the buildout of large‑scale data center infrastructure in New Albany, OH. No prior data center experience is required; candidates from construction, warehouse, or general labor backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

You will pull, route, label, and organize Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, assist with structured installations, learn termination and punch‑down techniques, and perform basic cable testing on site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hands-on environment such as construction, warehouse, manufacturing or general labor.
• Comfortable using hand tools and learning cable termination/punch‑down techniques.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders in varied job site environments.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, label, and organize Cat5e and Cat6 cabling.
• Assist with structured cabling installations and infrastructure builds.
• Learn cable termination and punch‑down techniques.
• Support basic cable testing using industry‑standard tools.
• Assist with fiber optic cable handling and cable management.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
• Work closely with experienced technicians and supervisors.
• Perform installation work in construction and office environments.
• Use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Schedule Requirements

• Monday through Saturday
• 10-hour shifts
• Must be flexible to work either 1st or 2nd shift

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 – $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
