Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring an entry-level Data Center Technician in Fairfax, IA. This hands-on role focuses on building and maintaining data center infrastructure, including cable installation and routing on active construction sites.

You will gain experience with fiber optics, structured cabling, and data center systems while advancing toward senior technician roles. The position offers a day shift with onsite work and opportunities for internal career growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, telecom, or another hands-on trade.
• Familiarity with hand tools.
• Experience pulling cable, installing cable trays, fiber, Cat5, or Cat6 preferred.
• Reliable, coachable, and eager to learn.
• Comfortable working at heights and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7AM - 7PM day shift

Work Environment

Active data center construction sites supporting large-scale technology infrastructure projects.

You’ll be working on large-scale data center construction projects supporting the buildout of cutting‑edge technology infrastructure. This is a hands‑on role in an active construction environment where teamwork, safety, and a strong work ethic are essential.

This is a Contract position based out of Fairfax, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
