Job summary

Forged Fiber 37 is hiring a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technicians to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our network. You will support construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration, ensuring high standards of safety and quality on-site at 1255 W.

Glenn Street, Tucson, AZ. Required experience includes 2+ years in fiber splicing or related telecom outside-plant work, along with proficiency in fusion splicers, OTDRs, and related tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to maintain a safe driving record.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/OSP experience or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, maps, diagrams, permits or work orders; strong attention to detail and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to collaborate with teams, contractors, and agencies.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) for field documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, and test fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR, optical power meter, and related tools.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases across aerial and underground cable types.
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing and complete routine repairs.
• Coordinate with construction crews and partners; provide field splicing reports.
• Read designs and As‑Builts; interpret maps, diagrams, and permits.
