Job summary

Page Mechanical Group, Inc. seeks a Fiber Splicing Technician I-III to splice, test, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic cables in field environments. The role requires hands-on cabling work, reading prints, and adhering to safety standards.

You will perform end-of-line testing, cable preparation, case builds, OTDR-based analysis, documentation, and coordination with foremen to keep projects on schedule. Experience with FOA CFOT preferred; OSHA 10 is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fiber Splicing Certification preferred (FOA CFOT/CFOS-S).

Responsibilities

• End-of-Line testing of fiber networks to verify balanced signal.
• Cable prep: label and organize cables to minimize errors.
• Build fiber cases and enclosures for protection.
• Splice color for color fibers; ensure correct fiber connections.
• Organize cables within enclosures; route and secure to prevent damage.
• Seal and place cases to protect equipment from elements.
• Read splice matrices and maps to understand fiber routes.
• Route fibers between trays and jumper cases.
• Use OTDRs and power meters to locate breaks and test line integrity.
• Refurbish gel-filled enclosures.
• Redlining and documentation of changes.
• Case swaps and audits for compliance.
• Troubleshoot network issues.
• Pull cables through ducts/conduits and activate lines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
