Job summary

Forged Fiber in Omaha, NE is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction, operations, maintenance, and restoration projects. You will work on aerial and underground networks, read prints, coordinate with crews, and use OTDR, power meters, and splicing equipment.

This full-time role requires 2+ years experience, a high school diploma, and ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, power meter and fiber identifiers.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot faults with OTDR, power meter, and related tools; document results.
• Prepare and repair splice cases/enclosures; perform aerial and underground splices.
• Read prints, splice diagrams, and design maps; coordinate with teams to meet schedules.
