Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a Fiber Tech II to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across our Boise and Caldwell projects. You will work with various splice types, coordinate with construction teams, and ensure safety and quality standards on site.

The role requires 2+ years of related experience, reading schematics, and proficiency with fusion splicers and OTDR equipment. A valid driver’s license and willingness to perform outdoor work are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to read/interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test fiber optic cable for construction projects and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot faults with OTDR, power meter, and related tools; document results.
• Prepare, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures across aerial, buried, handhole, and manhole configurations.
• Perform aerial and underground work and ensure safety practices (gas detection/ventilation).
• Coordinate with crews and engineers to resolve outages and meet schedules; submit field reports.
