Job summary

Forged Fiber 37 is seeking a diligent Fiber Tech II to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our Las Vegas projects. You will handle inspections, documentation, and coordination with construction crews to ensure reliable restoration and service continuity.

The role demands 2+ years of splicing/telecom experience, proficient use of fusion splicers, OTDRs, and power meters, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid state driver’s license; ability to drive company vehicles.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant experience or related training.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Ability to read construction prints, splice diagrams, maps, diagrams and permits; strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of collaborating with teams and agencies.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and field documentation.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults with OTDR, power meter, scope, and fault finder; send test files and docs.
• Prepare, install, and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes, manholes).
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing; conduct routine repairs to restore service.
• Place and test jumpers in cabinets; conduct fiber panel audits.
• Perform aerial/underground work and interpret design maps and permits.
• Read and create As-Builts; coordinate with crews and partners to resolve outages.
