Job summary

Forged Fiber in Boise, ID is seeking a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable across construction projects. You will work on-site with crews to keep networks flowing and respond to restoration needs.

You should have 2+ years of relevant experience, read engineering drawings, and follow OSHA safety standards while using OTDRs, fusion splicers, and meters. This role demands physical effort and readiness for overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• DOT certification preferred.
• Experience in fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant is valued.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, and maps to complete work.
• Coordinate with crews and document field splicing reports.
• Follow OSHA safety requirements and company procedures.
• Operate company devices for work orders and diagnostics.
• Perform aerial and underground work to maintain route integrity.
