Job summary

Forged Fiber is hiring a Fiber Tech II who will install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across construction projects in the Auburn, WA area. You will work with OTDRs, power meters, and splice enclosures, ensuring accurate documentation and quality control.

The role requires reading construction prints, coordinating with crews, and performing overtime as needed. A high school diploma and fiber-splicing experience are preferred, with safety and regulatory compliance at the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction prints and diagrams.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience with fiber splicing/telecom outside-plant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR, power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes, manholes).
• Perform dark fiber tests, reel and continuity testing, and routine repairs to restore service.
• Place and test jumpers in cabinets and perform panel audits.
• Read construction prints and diagrams to complete work accurately.
• Coordinate with crews, partners, and engineers to resolve outages and meet schedules.
• Use company devices for work orders, diagnostics, and documentation.
• Follow OSHA and other regulatory policies.
