Job summary

Ziply Fiber is seeking a Fiber Optic Technician to install and maintain residential internet and phone services using Ziply Fiber products. You will engage customers, interpret drawings, and use test equipment to ensure quality.

This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and responsive service across our expanding fiber network. The position requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and willingness to work nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience supporting and interacting with customers preferred.
• Experience with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, and different PC operating systems preferred.
• 1-2 years of fiber data and voice installation and maintenance; fiber color-code competency a plus.
• Additional certification or certifications (hosted voice, ethernet, fiber, optics, flagging, CPR) a plus.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record.
• Must complete a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain residential internet and phone services (fiber drops, ONTs, routers, Wi-Fi extenders).
• Support, install, and repair company products and services.
• Communicate effectively with customers to reduce repeat service calls.
• Read and interpret outside plant drawings for drop placement and repairs.
• Use dispatch equipment and test gear to verify installations.
• Drive box truck to fetch materials and deliver to locations.
