Clearwave Fiber is seeking a Fiber Technician to splice, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables for high-speed data services. The role involves installing drops, testing signal strength, and connecting equipment at customer premises.

Strong communication with customers and team members is essential, as is the ability to work on-site in varying environments. Candidates should have telecommunications experience and be comfortable working with ladders, confined spaces, and field equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Telecommunications experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees and management.

Responsibilities

• Splice and terminate fiber optic cable according to procedures and specs.
• Maintain, test, and measure fiber optic signal strength from street to house.
• Install telecommunications services, connect cables at vault/tap, and install inside wiring.
• Set up and test fiber equipment at customer premises and connect wireless devices.
• Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues and maintain good relationships.
• Use hand tools and test equipment (OPM, VOM) safely and effectively.
• Travel to sites as needed in company vehicle, following safety rules.
