Job summary

Clearwave Fiber LLC is seeking a results-driven Fiber Installation Repair Technician to join our team serving the Sebring area. You will splice, maintain and repair fiber cables, test signal strength, and install services at customer premises while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills and ability to work with customers and colleagues, with responsibilities including site access, equipment setup, and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Telecommunications (Fiber Optic, Telephone, CATV) experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees and management.
• Valid driver’s license with history of safe driving record.
• Knowledge of current industry terminology, procedures, and equipment preferred.
• Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces.
• Must be able to work from a ladder while using the required hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Splices/terminates fiber optic cable according to procedure and specifications.
• Tests and measures fiber optic signal strength from street to house.
• Installs telecommunications services by identifying and connecting correct cables and equipment at the customer premise.
• Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and staff and maintains cooperative relationships.
• Operates hand tools and test equipment including OPM and VOM.
• Maintains vaults and taps and reports maintenance needs.
• Travels to sites as needed in company vehicle and adheres to safety rules.
• Accesses cable and equipment by climbing ladders and navigating crawl spaces.
