Job summary

Clearwave Fiber is seeking a Fiber / Installation Repair Technician to splice, install and repair fiber optic cables in Sebring and surrounding areas. The role requires hands-on electrical and fiber experience and a strong focus on customer service.

You will work on underground, direct bury and aerial plant, testing signal strength and ensuring service quality. Travel will be required, with emphasis on safety and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Telecommunications (Fiber Optic, Telephone, CATV) experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees and management.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• IPTV/ ADSL installation and repair experience is a plus.
• Understand construction drawings and basic electrical concepts.

Responsibilities

• Splice and terminate fiber optic cable per procedures and specs.
• Maintain, test, and measure fiber signal strength from street to house.
• Install telecommunications services: identify and connect correct cables, install drops, wiring and customer premise equipment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, staff and managers.
• Operate hand tools and test equipment (OPM, VOM).
• Maintain vaults and taps and report maintenance needs.
• Travel to sites using company vehicle and comply with safety rules.
• Access cables and equipment via ladders, crawl spaces, attics and other areas.
