Job summary

Clearwave Fiber is seeking a results-driven Fiber Technician to install, repair, and maintain high-speed fiber services. You will splice, test, and deploy fiber networks, while communicating clearly with customers and colleagues.

The role requires crawling, climbing, and operating hand tools and test equipment in varied environments. You will travel to sites, work with vaults/taps, and ensure safety and quality in every installation.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; telecom experience preferred.
• 2-3 years in fiber optic, telephone, or CATV is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Splice and terminate fiber optic cable per standards.
• Test signal strength from street to house with equipment.
• Install services by connecting correct cables at vault/tap and install at customer premises.
• Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers; maintain professional relationships.
• Operate hand tools and test equipment (OPM, VOM).
• Maintain vaults/taps and report maintenance needs.
• Travel to sites using company vehicle; comply with safety rules.
• Access cables in crawlspaces/attics; manage time and paperwork.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
