Job summary

Frontier Communications seeks a Fiber Network Field Technician in Mentone, CA to perform installation and maintenance of fiber network services from the customer terminal to the customer premises, including routers and set-top boxes. You may install inside wiring and ensure proper home network configuration, interfacing with the Fiber Solution Center as needed.

The role requires testing equipment, interpreting work orders, providing customer training, and ensuring satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Valid California driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Color vision required to distinguish colors.
• Ability to perceive and differentiate audible tones/levels.
• Experience in fiber network field technician roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, rearranges, programs, tests, troubleshoots and maintains fiber network services.
• Installs and configures routers and set-top boxes; assists with PC software installation and proper home network configuration.
• Maintains fiber equipment and facilities including inside wiring and fiber jumpers at the hub; activates ONT.
• Interacts with customers to arrange equipment placement, assists with account setup, and trains customers on new equipment.
• Interprets work orders to determine installation needs; orders necessary equipment and solves problems.
• Uses test equipment to analyze equipment and take maintenance action.
• May perform additional duties as required by the Company.
