Job summary

IES Communications seeks a skilled Crew Lead - Fiber to supervise installation crews on project sites, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time completion. You will provide technical guidance on termination, testing, and splicing while coordinating with the Project Manager and customers.

The role requires extensive field experience with fiber optic systems, OTDR testing, and splicing, plus strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with fiber optic installation, termination, testing, and splicing.
• Proficiency with OTDR testing, Fluke certification equipment, and fiber troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with outside plant (OSP) and inside plant (ISP) fiber systems.
• Knowledge of multimode and single-mode fiber infrastructure.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and project documentation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise fiber installation crews on project sites.
• Provide training and technical guidance to team members.
• Monitor productivity, workmanship, and adherence to project schedules.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce safety requirements.
• Address performance concerns and elevate issues to the Project Manager when necessary.
• Coordinate daily activities to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within budget.
• Coordinate project requirements with the Project Manager.
• Serve as on-site company representative and point of contact for customers.
