Job summary

Network Connex is seeking a Construction Foreman to lead on-site fiber optic installations, including aerial and underground facilities. The role covers site prep, excavation, handhole and manhole placement, and verification of utility locates with heavy equipment operation and safety adherence.

The candidate must manage crew performance, review build docs, oversee inventory, and ensure timely closeout submissions while maintaining high safety and quality standards in a field environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of installation methods for underground duct and aerial path and cable construction, handhole and manhole placement, site layouts, road and landscape restoration, and grounding.
• 1-3 years of supervisory experience
• Computer proficient
• Ability to operate mini-x, skid steers, and other heavy equipment as needed
• Strong verbal and electronic communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the schedule
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to motivate, lead, teach, and train on proper work and safety procedures
• High school diploma, GED, or related trade school education
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
• Must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
• Able to travel away from home, including weekends
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the crew from the beginning of a project through completion, ensuring safety and quality standards, budget, and timelines are met
• Review documentation with the crew to prepare for the build, assemble materials and determine installation methods
• Supervise tracking of on-site inventory and materials
• Collect, review, and submit all on-site closeout documentation per timelines
• Train crew members on safety/quality standards per CCDP
• Verify crew certifications and skillsets for the scope of work
• Maintain issued equipment and report deficiencies
• Submit daily progress reports with schedule delays or material needs
