Job summary

LAC-Federal in Suitland, Maryland is seeking a Material Handling Laborer to support a federal records program, ensuring accurate storage, retrieval, and handling of records and containers. The role requires handling boxes, pallets, and related warehouse tasks while maintaining strict confidentiality and compliance with agency standards.

Responsibilities include locating and transporting records, verifying locations, and processing records for disposition.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must pass background investigation and suitability process.
• Must be able to report to Suitland, Maryland for on-site shifts.
• Excellent English reading, writing and basic numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Locate, retrieve, remove, transport, and reshelve Federal records containers according to work instructions and pull lists.
• Safely remove records boxes from shelving and transport containers using government equipment.
• Receive and shelve incoming records transfers and verify locations against documentation.
• Prepare records for disposition by pulling designated containers and securely shrink-wrapping pallets.
• Maintain container sequences and verify identifying information and shelf locations.
• Retrieve requested folders and boxes in response to reference service requests and reshelve after processing.
• Identify and report missing containers or discrepancies to the Team Lead or designated personnel.
• Complete required logs and records-handling documentation accurately and legibly.
• Perform palletizing, staging, shrinking, shelving, relocation, and general warehouse duties to protect records.
