Job summary

LAC Federal in San Bruno, California, seeks a Material Handling Laborer to support a federal records program. The role focuses on accurate storage, retrieval, movement, disposition, and handling of records and containers to safeguard essential government records.

You will perform warehouse tasks such as locating, shelving, transporting, and maintaining logs while following safety and agency procedures. Candidates must be 18+, eligible to work in the U.S., and able to pass a background check for

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Able to successfully complete the background investigation/suitability process to access a NARA Federal facility.
• Able to report reliably to the San Bruno, California facility for scheduled on-site shifts.
• Able to understand and consistently follow written and verbal instructions, records-control procedures, safety requirements, and work assignments.
• Demonstrate sufficient English-language reading, basic writing, and basic numerical skills to interpret container numbers, shelf locations, labels, pull lists, reports, and related records documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive Government records and information.

Responsibilities

• Locate, retrieve, remove, transport, and reshelve Federal records containers following work instructions and documentation.
• Safely move records boxes using government-provided material-handling equipment.
• Receive and shelve incoming records transfers, verifying locations against records Put Away Reports.
• Prepare records for disposition by pulling containers, transporting to review areas, palletizing, and shrink-wrapping pallets.
• Maintain container sequences and verify identifying information, labels, and shelf locations for accountability.
• Retrieve requested folders, files, boxes, and other records in response to requests and reshelve after processing.
• Identify and report missing containers, discrepancies, damaged containers, or issues to the Team Lead or designated personnel.
