Job summary

Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. is seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to design building systems for Federal projects. You will lead HVAC and plumbing design, create specs and drawings, review submittals, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires strong communication, code knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams across complex facilities. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Holds active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Create and maintain mechanical project execution plans and schedules.
• Lead HVAC and plumbing system deliverables for new buildings, renovations, and additions.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and perform construction phase services.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractors; mentor staff.
