Job summary

Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering professional to design HVAC/plumbing systems for government facilities and renovations.

The role emphasizes energy modeling, life cycle cost analysis, and 2D REVIT drawings, with opportunities to coordinate across disciplines and clients. The position supports a hybrid work environment with a focus on delivering compliant, high-quality engineering deliverables for Federal/Department of Defense projects.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of building mechanical codes and ability to perform accurate load calculations.
• Intermediate HVAC/Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in the production of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (specifications, drawings, calculations, basis of design) for new buildings as well as for renovation and additions to existing facilities.
• Actively coordinate with other disciplines, clients, and contractor on projects.
• Oversee the creation and analysis of project energy modeling and life cycle cost analysis utilizing Trace 3D and BLCC.
• Oversee creation of 2D drawings (P&IDs, control diagrams, notes) in REVIT.
• Perform construction period services (review of submittals, responses to RFIs)
