Olsson is hiring an Associate Electrical Engineer to join the Federal Engineering & Design Team. You will support planning and design of electrical systems for federal facilities and infrastructure, gaining exposure to UFC, DoD, and VA requirements while building expertise in power distribution and lighting.

This role offers hands-on experience on mission-critical facilities, with opportunities for mentorship, professional development, and involvement in national projects.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a power concentration.
• 1 year of engineering experience, internship, or equivalent project experience.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Familiarity with design and modeling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32 or similar tools.
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical building systems is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and perform occasional field work.

Aufgaben

• Assist in the design of electrical systems for federal facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections under the guidance of licensed engineers.
• Develop and apply knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Utilize engineering and design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or other electrical modeling and analysis tools.
• Assist with project schedules, design coordination efforts, and interdisciplinary collaboration with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams.
• Research applicable federal design criteria and recommend solutions to technical challenges.
• Gain experience creating and maintaining project information within the firm’s project management systems.
• May travel to project sites and federal installations to support design development, construction, and project coordination activities.
