Job summary

Olsson, a people-focused engineering firm, seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer to join the Federal Engineering and Design Team. You will assist design of electrical systems for federal facilities, learn UFC, DoD, and VA requirements, and grow expertise in power distribution, lighting, and life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a concentration in power.
• Minimum of one year of engineering experience, internship, or equivalent academic project experience.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Familiarity with NEC and electrical building systems is preferred.
• Experience with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32 or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical systems for federal facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections under the guidance of licensed engineers.
• Develop knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry practices.
• Utilize design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32 for modeling and analysis.
• Support project schedules, design coordination, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Research applicable federal design criteria and recommend solutions to technical challenges.
• Maintain project information within the firm’s project management systems.
• May travel to project sites and federal installations to support design development and coordination.
