Job summary

Olsson is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Engineering & Design team. You will support planning and design of electrical systems for federal facilities, gaining exposure to UFC, DoD, and VA standards while developing expertise in power distribution, lighting, and building systems.

You will work with licensed engineers, apply NEC and design best practices, and use Revit/AutoCAD and related tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a power concentration.
1 year of engineering experience, internship, or equivalent project work.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
Familiarity with NEC and electrical building systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design of electrical systems for federal facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety systems.
Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections under the guidance of licensed engineers.
Develop and apply knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32, or similar tools for modeling and analysis.
Assist with project schedules, design coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams.
Research applicable federal design criteria and recommend technical solutions.
