Job summary

Olsson is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Engineering and Design Team. You will support planning and design of electrical systems for federal facilities and infrastructure, gaining exposure to UFC, DoD, and VA requirements while developing expertise in power distribution, lighting, communications, fire alarm, and other building electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a concentration in power.
• Minimum of one year of engineering experience, internship experience, or equivalent academic project experience.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Familiarity with NEC and electrical building systems preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32 or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design of electrical systems for federal facilities including power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety.
• Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections under licensed engineers.
• Develop knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Utilize design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or other modeling and analysis tools.
• Support project schedules, design coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams.
• Research applicable federal design criteria and recommend solutions to challenges.
• Gain experience maintaining project information in the firm’s project management systems.
• May travel to project sites and federal installations to support design development and coordination.
