Job summary

Olsson seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer to join our Federal Engineering and Design Team. You will design electrical systems for federal facilities, gaining exposure to UFC, DoD, and VA requirements while developing expertise in power distribution, lighting, and life safety.

Collaborate with licensed engineers using Revit and AutoCAD; perform calculations, layouts, and equipment selections; travel to project sites as needed; support project schedules and cross‑disciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering focused on power.
• 1 year engineering experience or internship.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Working knowledge of design software such as Revit/AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with NEC and electrical building systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing electrical systems for federal facilities (power, lighting, grounding, life safety).
• Perform calculations, layouts, and equipment selections under licensed engineers.
• Develop knowledge of electrical engineering codes and standards.
• Use Revit, AutoCAD, and similar tools for modeling.
• Support project schedules and cross-disciplinary design coordination.
• Research federal design criteria and propose solutions.
• Maintain project information in the firm’s project management systems.
• May travel to project sites and federal installations.
