Job summary

Olsson seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer to join the Federal Engineering & Design team, working on electrical systems for federal facilities and infrastructure projects. You will gain exposure to UFC, DoD, and VA requirements while developing expertise in power distribution, lighting, and life safety.

You’ll collaborate with licensed engineers, use Revit/AutoCAD, and contribute to project development, design coordination, and field support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a concentration in power.
• Minimum of one year of engineering experience, internship experience, or equivalent academic project experience.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
• Familiarity with design and modeling software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, AGi32, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical systems for federal facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and life safety systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, system layouts, and equipment selections under the guidance of licensed engineers.
• Develop and apply knowledge of electrical engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
• Utilize engineering and design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or other electrical modeling and analysis tools.
• Assist with project schedules, design coordination efforts, and interdisciplinary collaboration with mechanical, civil, structural, and architectural teams.
• Research applicable federal design criteria and recommend solutions to technical challenges.
