Job summary

Healtheon in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of federal and commercial contracts. You will review, negotiate, execute, and administer agreements while ensuring compliance with FAR and related regulations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of contract management experience, a strong legal documentation background, and the ability to coordinate with legal, operations, and finance teams to manage milestones, renewals, and risk.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in contract administration, contract management, government contracting, legal administration, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience working with U.S. federal government contracts.
• Strong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
• Experience managing subcontracts and subcontractor relationships.
• Strong understanding of legal and contractual documents, terminology, and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of federal, commercial, and subcontract agreements from review and negotiation through execution, administration, modification, and closeout.
• Interpret and apply FAR requirements and other applicable federal contracting regulations and policies.
• Review contracts, subcontracts, amendments, modifications, NDAs, teaming agreements, purchase agreements, and other legal and contractual documents.
• Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, insurance requirements, compliance requirements, and expiration/renewal dates.
• Manage and maintain subcontractor agreements and documentation, including compliance, certifications, flow-down requirements, and performance obligations.
• Coordinate with legal, operations, finance, project management, and executive leadership on contractual matters.
• Identify contractual risks, inconsistencies, and compliance issues and elevate matters appropriately.
• Maintain accurate and organized contract files and documentation, ensuring records are complete, accessible, and audit-ready.
• Support contract negotiations and assist with drafting and reviewing contractual language.
• Track changes, amendments, modifications, notices, and other contract correspondence.
• Ensure appropriate FAR clauses and federal contract requirements are incorporated and flowed down to subcontractors when applicable.
• Assist with audits, government inquiries, internal compliance reviews, and contract closeout activities.
• Develop and maintain contract administration processes, templates, tracking systems, and organizational standards.
• Handle confidential and sensitive business and legal information with discretion.
